MORE PROGRESS. Still needs boning and finishing around the edges, but done otherwise. Pictures are extremely crappy thanks to my phone.
Also, somehow my cat keeps ending up in my lap and is greatly disrupting the posting of this progress.
My dressform looks disproportionally short. The dress is made of black suiting and the feathers are the lazy-hobo route of a boa handstitched along the neckline. The dress pattern is actually a modified Greek "goddess" pattern, where I added sleeves, removed some of the gathering and raised the back.
The corset is my new favorite pattern, this Butterick long-line one that ACTUALLY FITS MY HIPS. It is obvs not laced all the way closed because dressforms do not squish, but it closes all the way on me. Like I said, still needs edging and bones, but progress is had! I will have black lacing for Edea, and purple for Ursula.
Ursula still needs tentacles.
