The last of The Last Battle

We finally finished the last book of the Chronicles of Narnia, and what a blessing to end the day with thoughts of how wonderful heaven will be for those who love the Lord. Hmm. I havent read any C.S Lewis. I want to read "the screwtape letters". I heard "mere Christianity" is pretty good. A few years ago when I went to camp with Chambers a gril "acted out" a passage from "The Chronicles of Narnia" for the staff talent show. I really should get his stuff.

Mere Christianity is a foundational book on the evidence for the existence of God, and the logical response to Him. It is well worth your time. Screwtape Letters is a fictional work that provides insight into the workings of the spirit realm, mainly the schemes the devil uses to distract us from God. It is also worth reading but must be read in the spirit in which it was intended. The Chronicles of Narnia are works of fiction, really children's stories which may be understood at a deeper level of symbolism. A word of caution about Lewis's liberty with the use of magic, and the idea I previously mentioned about God accepting those who serve other gods. Different releases of the set put the books in a different order. I recommend beginning with The Magician's Nephew then reading The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. If you really like to read, I recommend them, as well as the Cosmic Trilogy, which is written on a slightly more adult level and also contains a wealth of symbolic imagery.
