It has been, more or less, a day since I arrived.
This whole indefinitely trapped business leaves my mind wandering back to the fate of my garden, without my care and attention. What shall become of my hydrangeas, my hibiscus, my lilies? And what if my vines and ivies aren't kept in check? A short absence will not make any difference, but that much

Hopefully your savage garden will won't attempt to murder one of your superiors in your absence. I have delightful visions of hacking machetes and various plant killers being dumped on your beloved 'babies'. Oh dear...
The tree looks rather cheerful to me. It reminds me that in winter, the cold kills most of the plant life. Thinking about all those withered, icy flowers brings a smile to my face.

You're having visions, you say? Oh my, surely that is a sign that the poor ventilation in your rather disgusting laboratory is having an adverse effect on you. Naturally, once we are free, I shall have to see to it that tests are done to make sure you are competent enough to be working with such dangerous materials. I wouldn't want you to blow up the foundations of Castle Oblivion, after all...
It is a good thing my evergreens are flourishing then, isn't it? The thing I like best about the winter snow is that soon enough it melts away without a trace, with spring on its heels. Just think of all my wonderful daffodils, cherry blossoms, tulips, pansies, magnolias... and all that pollen germination. Why, I expect my garden to grow in size considerably this year. I do hope you do don't suffer from hayfever.

‘Visions’ have nothing to do with my laboratory. Though, if you dislike it so much, then you should have just let me be. I neither forced you nor invited you into my work place. Unfortunately, I’m in the same situation as you in regards to your garden with my laboratory. I will have to build a new one here. Need to investigate that apothecary…
Spring time is revolting. My opinion on that can not be shaken. There is more beauty in a snow flake or an ice pattern on a lake than there is in a single flower. I will be glad not to see your oversized garden, so I won’t even have the chance to suffer from it.

I would not tread in your lab if it was not absolutely necessary, believe me. But when you're in charge, you see, you must check up on everyone. The Superior expects progress reports, after all.
Finally, you have said something intelligent! Was it really that hard now? I may not like your labs, but I do agree it is where you are best left.
It is such a shame your moment was short-lived. How quaint of you to think you have a grasp on beauty.
