I think I spent too much energy gearing up for the 4th of July. After shopping to feed 150 people at the tailgate and then spending 11 hours at Pizza Hut Park, I have no energy left. As Jon mentioned in his live journal, we have baby cardinals living in a shrub next to our house. I looked in the nest this afternoon and the egg he thought was dud has hatched. We now have 3 baby cardinals. Woo Hoo!

We're having some thunderstorms across northern Texas and Jon and I just spent the a few minutes sitting in the hall of our house because the tornado sirens went off. They've gone off now so we're watching the weather on tv.

Bummer that we didn't get a return this year, but since we only had to pay $33, I'm not going to complain too much.

After the accident last year when most of our koi died, we've only had 3 koi in our pond. Yesterday, Jon and I bought five new babies to put in there. We were worried because they're so much smaller than the ones that are still in there. My sister called me yesterday, very excited that they've started construction on your bridge in Lockhart.
