Five TV shows I tried but didn't stick with

I go through phases of watching a lot of TV. Some of it, my satellite company kindly provides for me (for example, Empire is finally starting next week in the UK) and I'm more than happy to trail along however many weeks or months behind we are than the US/Canada. Others, not so much. ;)

I thought it was just me being picky or something, but I agree with that list. I made it through the first episode of a couple, and the whole first season of Extant, but I don't think I can take any more of it. Such shit writing.

Bones has been boring me this year, so has NCIS, and Criminal Minds (my beloved Garcia is still as fab as ever, tho), and Continuum lost me along the way in S4 (I think? Might be 3).

Finally getting around to watching more of Friday Night Lights, which caught me in S1 and then lost me for a while there. But I have the complete boxset - it's not going anywhere.

I can see how it must be incredibly difficult to take a long-running show and keep it fresh and alive, so it's no surprise to me that fans start to fall by the wayside at some point. I think I managed about 5 seasons of Criminal Minds before I got fed up with it and just stopped. The only show I've really been impressed with recently in terms of keeping up the quality of writing has been Elementary.
