The belated TV post I've been threatening to do...

Oct 17, 2015 23:31

September is the start of the new TV season for most things so it's been traditional for me to post something around then about what I'm watching, what didn't survive the end of last season and what I'm looking forward to - yep, I know we're in mid-October but there's still new stuff coming so whatever... Spoilers likely in the comments, opinions ( Read more... )

I was mildly curious about Jessica Jones, then I saw the Nightcap teaser and I was sold.

I like the idea of superheroes on a smaller scale than the movies, so I was already sold when Daredevil got made and when they started planning even more obscure stuff I could almost forgive them for the lack of a Black Widow movie and fucking about with Captain Marvel...

I've been really disappointed with most TV shows lately. I'm basically only watching Sleepy Hollow and Arrow. And Supernatural. I am looking forward to the new season of The Librarians in November though.

There are a few shows that I'll watch if they're on, but I don't care if I miss an episode or four. Things like Castle, Big Bang and Hawaii Five-O.

I want something amazing to come along, but no one seems to want to do anything new and creative! It's more repetition and reality shows. Ugh.

I give a lot of things a try but have discovered that if I can't make it through the pilot, I probably won't stick with it - I actually lasted a couple more episodes with The Librarians but it bugged me all sorts of ways to the point where I just couldn't bear to watch it.

I'm a terrible completist, I'm afraid, so dipping in and out of shows is not ever going to be something I can do.

It's much easier to retread endless hospital and police and FBI shows than try and do something that hasn't been done before, but occasionally it does happen. Don't see any sign of it happening this new season, though!

Of the new shows this season, the only one that I've stuck with (though there are a few I haven't had time to sample yet) is Limitless. Guy swallows pill that makes him super smart, and now he works for the FBI. This one sounded dumb, so I never expected to watch it past the first episode, but I'm really enjoying it.

It's a spin-off from the movie of the same name, isn't it? If it turns up on tv over here, I'll probably give it a go but I'm a bit bored with geniuses and the FBI after Numb3rs.
