Chapter Eight

“I promise,” the words echoed around Luke’s mind for a few moments. He stood in front of the doctor, seeing his hair starting to dry. This wasn’t a Reid Luke was used to. For once, they were on the same page.

“I thought doctors didn’t make promises?” Luke questioned, cocking an eyebrow. He couldn’t let go of the antagonistic nature just yet. And maybe Reid was right. It was foreplay.

The doctor rolled his eyes and reached out for Luke. He used to hate how often the young man would touch him, but now he was initiating the contact. The only reason it bothered him was because Reid liked it so much. The younger man was a little stiff, and Reid snaked his arms around Luke, holding the blonde close.

“I didn’t do a lot of things before I met you, Luke,” Reid noted and a smile tugged at his lips as he saw the younger man visibly relax.

Luke reached between them and placed his hand on the redhead’s chest for a moment. Reid’s heartbeat wasn’t steady, and for that reason, Luke was assured. “I have to tell my parents,” he murmured.

“I know. Do you want me there?” the moment Reid asked the question, he wanted to take it back.

The younger man chuckled softly, seeing the look in Reid’s eyes and his hands slid up, coming to rest around the doctor’s shoulders. Luke’s fingers wound their way into the edge of Reid’s hair. “Yes, but I won’t ask that of you.”

“Luke…” Reid’s grip tightened slightly.

“But you’ll be with me in spirit. I know it,” Luke assured him.

Reid leaned down, his forehead brushing against Luke’s for a moment. Their eyes connected and Luke’s heart pounded slightly. How had he ever ignored feeling this way? How could he pretend Reid didn’t make him want this? Reid pressed a gentle kiss to Luke’s mouth and the blonde groaned, tugging him even closer, keeping their mouths together.

*

Luke’s talk with his parents was delayed for a bit. Reid got a page, had to go check on his patient, and Luke had gotten an email from their architect. The blonde’s radio silence had extended to the Snyder Pavilion as well. Matt was desperate to get approval from Luke before they could go further. Luke knew he couldn’t get any work done at home, so he headed to the Foundation offices.

The next couple of days, Luke was busy with work, not so much that he couldn’t tell his parents, but it was a convenient enough excuse. Reid had practically moved into the hospital as well. The doctor sent emails and texts, his patient was getting better, but Reid had gotten called into an emergency and wasn’t sure when he’d be free.

Whenever Luke thought about Reid, he felt the same nervous anticipation and fear he felt about Kevin. Reid’s voice echoed in the blonde’s mind, an assurance that he could have him, and it scared Luke even more. He knew Reid was going to be “patient,” but Luke couldn’t imagine that Reid wanted this kind of relationship. In the darkest of night, Luke wondered if Reid wanted to have any kind of relationship at all. By some miracle, he’d gotten a few texts from Reid, assurances that whatever Luke needed, the doctor would be there. Luke wasn’t sure how Reid knew that Luke was thinking about him, but he appreciated it.

He glanced at the clock: 3:24 a.m. “He’s probably sleeping,” Luke muttered, but he couldn’t help himself. The last text he’d received had been a little more than an hour ago, and the blonde reached for his phone. After pressing a few buttons, the call connected.

“Oliver,” Reid picked up on the second ring.

“Hi,” Luke whispered.

Reid was in his office, reviewing Max’s scans. His young patient should wake up any time now and Reid wanted to be there. Being away from Luke was torture, but dating a guy who lived with his parents and hadn’t come out yet, wasn’t easier. It’d been only 48 hours, but Reid knew he was already in this. If he was honest with himself, he’d acknowledge that he’d meant what he’d said to Luke, that he’d been in this since the first day they met.

“Hi,” Reid returned the greeting. His voice was low, and he immediately dropped the scans. “What are you doing up?”

The concern was welcome and Luke couldn’t help but smile, even though Reid’s voice had that demanding quality, like when he wanted a particular piece of equipment. Luke couldn’t deny him anything it seemed. “Thinking of you,” Luke admitted. He felt his face inflame and was grateful for the dark, even though Reid couldn’t possibly see him.

“Am I doing anything particularly noteworthy?” Reid asked his voice had gone down an octave.

Luke swallowed thickly in the dark. He definitely wasn’t ready for… “Are you flirting with me?”

“Well, if you have to ask…” the doctor’s voice had returned to normal range.

“I thought you’ve been flirting with me since we met,” Luke countered. He wanted to keep the momentum going. He liked the way Reid’s voice sounded in the dark.

“Foreplay, Mr. Snyder. It’s called foreplay.”

Luke chuckled softly. There it was. “I have a lot to learn, don’t I?”

“Good thing you’ve got me for your teacher.”

The blonde’s eyes closed, and he felt his head shake. “What am I going to do with you?”

“Well, if you want a list…”

“Reid,” Luke’s voice was a little high-pitched. “I’m in my mom’s house.”

That quickly put a damper on Reid’s mood. “Right. Have you told her yet?”

Luke felt the shift as well and reacted in kind. “Today. I’ve decided I’m going to tell them today. I know you’ve got patients, but…”

“Did you change your mind?” Reid checked. “Do you want me there with you?”

The younger man quickly shook his head, and realizing Reid couldn’t see him, said, “No. I…I need to do this on my own, but… Can I find you afterwards? Will you be at Katie’s or…”

“I can get there within ten minutes. I’m still waiting for Max to wake up.”

“Any change?”

Reid glanced around his office. He really wasn’t supposed to discuss his patients. He rarely even talked about them with other doctors, but this was different. “Well…” And so Reid began to discuss the case. Luke stopped him periodically, trying to get all of the medical jargon down, but he was a quick learner and an avid listener.

There was silence on the other end for a few moments. “Luke?” Reid checked.

He heard the sound of heavy breathing. Reid smirked to himself, while he might find his job a turn on, he knew the feeling wasn’t mutual. “Good night, Luke,” he murmured before hanging up.

*

Holden was expecting the phone call. He’d realized he’d been expecting the call for a while. But sitting in the living room of the house that he had helped to build his family with, a house he was now just an infrequent visitor to, watching his son pace back and forth, waiting for Lily to get off the phone with Lucinda, Holden didn’t know what to say.

“Lily!” his voice was a little sharper than he had intended, but this took precedence over whatever dust-up was brewing between his ex-wife and former mother-in-law.

Both Luke and Lily jumped, and she quickly disconnected the phone. “I’m sorry, baby,” she patted Luke on the arm and went to sit next to her ex-husband on the couch. She kept a distance from Holden, but he quietly moved closer.

Luke sat down on the chair in front of him, looking at his parents. When he woke up this morning, the battery on his phone was almost completely gone but there was one last text message.

Don’t over-think what you’re going to say. When you know me better, you’ll realize that’s completely against everything I believe, because I always over-think. It makes me the best. You’ve got me babbling now. Your parents will love you no matter what. They’re like that. And me? I have so much to teach you.

He had smiled and the nervous anticipation pooled in his stomach. With what little juice he had left in his phone, Luke texted back a thanks and that he couldn’t wait to learn from the master.

“Luke?” Holden’s voice worked through the young man’s thoughts and, blushing furiously, he met his father’s gaze.

“I have to tell you something.”

“Is everything all right?” Lily asked immediately and started to get up. Holden reached for her, wrapping his arm around her shoulders.

“I-I’m fine, mom. I just… I haven’t been honest with you, with myself even. No, I’ve known, I just couldn’t… Reid made me see…”

Holden’s grip tightened. It was the first time he’d heard Luke call the doctor by his first name, and then he saw the familiar blush stain his cheeks again. All of the needing to work out in the barn was starting to become even clearer. Dr. Oliver didn’t get under Luke’s skin because the man was rude, he got to Luke because his son was interested. Holden wasn’t sure what to do with that information. Accepting that his son was gay, and the dreams and the problems that Luke could face, in the abstract, Holden could understand them. Knowing there was a man, an older, abrasive, grown man wanted his son… Holden didn’t want to think about it.

“Who’s Reid?” Lily asked and shook her head in confusion.

“Dr. Oliver,” Luke correctly quietly, but the smile was there.

Holden wasn’t sure how far his son and this doctor had gone, but he didn’t like the look on Luke’s face either. Maybe he should pay the doctor a visit. Remind him that the farm has many acres should the older man decide Luke was too much trouble.

“Wait, I thought you and Dr. Oliver hated each other?” Lily’s confusion continued to deepen. “The way you and everyone at the hospital talks about him-”

“He’s brilliant, mom, and yes, he’s a total ass, but he saved Noah’s eyesight. He’s earned the right to be…” Luke couldn’t stop smiling, but that wasn’t the point of this conversation. “He’s also gay.”

“What does that have to do with anything?” she questioned.

“Because he helped me to admit that I’m gay too,” Luke answered quietly.

Holden’s grip on Lily tightened and she turned to look at him. “You knew?” she asked. “When you called-”

“Dad?” Luke’s face held so many questions.

“I didn’t know for sure…” Holden shook his head for a moment. “I suspected years ago, but then you started dating Maddie and… Are you and Dr. Oliver together?”

The conversation wasn’t going as Luke had planned. “Yes,” he whispered. “I mean we haven’t… We’re in a relationship; Reid… He’s helped me, he drives me crazy, but… I don’t know what’s going to happen with us, but he’s given me the strength to admit…” He shook his head and stood up. “You were right, dad, I’m gay, I should have-”

Holden let go of Lily and stood up, walking toward his son. “Whatever you want, whenever you want it, is right, Luke, either now or six years ago.”

“Is that why you were drinking?” Lily asked. It wasn’t the question she meant to ask, but her mind was swimming. Holden had tried to tell her, he’d seen, and that hurt so much. Luke was her son, how could she not know? He had been in pain then. How could she not have helped him? Was she any better than her own mother?

“Partly,” Luke admitted. “But I haven’t touched the stuff in years. I’ve thought about it,” he hated to say it aloud, but he remembering Reid’s words, You can have me, the desire lessened. “But I had to be honest about who I am and what I want.”

“Dr. Oliver,” Lily deduced. “Are you sure this man is right for you?”

“Lily,” Holden’s voice was sharp.

“I love you, Luke, that’s not what I am questioning. This man is older and rude. I don’t want him to hurt you. If there was another man, someone closer to your own age, like Noah, maybe?”

Luke rolled his eyes. “Mom, he’s in love with Richard. I’ve never thought about Noah that way. I want Reid.”

“And what does he want?” Lily questioned. “Is he just using you for this wing? Your foundation is putting a lot of money-”

“Mom, no, please. Reid just wants…” Luke couldn’t finish that sentence, because he’d been afraid of that very thing.

“Lily, we don’t need to focus on that now,” Holden said. “Luke, does he make you happy? Are you… are you going to be okay?”

The young man looked at his dad, so grateful for his father, his real father. “Yes. I think I’m finally going to be okay.”

Holden’s hand came up; he grabbed the back of Luke’s neck, pulling his son close. “If you need anything, you just have to ask.”

Luke nodded his head, tears pricking his eyes, and he briefly buried his head in his dad’s shoulder. “Thank you.”

*

Luke sent a couple of emails and texts to Reid. There was no answer and in a moment of weakness, he got in touch with the doctor’s assistant, Martha. She informed him that Reid had been called into an emergency surgery. It could take hours and did Luke want to leave a message?

What Luke wanted to say, he’d already attempted in his emails and texts. He wasn’t about to tell the assistant he’d just come out to his parents. “Uh, no, thank you.”

He couldn’t stay at his mom’s house. She tried, after Holden had left to ask him questions about Reid, but it felt more like an interrogation, and Luke said he had work to do. He escaped to his office, but he wasn’t able to get much done there, either.

Finally, he decided to head to Katie and Reid’s place. He knew the doctor wasn’t going to be there, but he didn’t mind waiting, and Katie was always a welcome friend. Knocking on her door he couldn’t help but cringe, recalling those brief moments when he had hoped he could feel something more for his friend. He didn’t want to hurt her, and using her to hide his own feelings would have been so bad.

“Luke, hi,” she greeted him with a smile. “Oh, Reid’s not here.”

“I know,” Luke assured her. “How did you know I was looking for Reid?”

Opening the door further, indicating he should come in, Katie hid her smile at the way Luke had said the doctor’s first name. “Well, you’ve been working so hard on the project…and actually I haven’t seen you in a while.”

“I know. I’m sorry, but I promise I’m back and… You might be seeing more of me,” he confessed. Luke hesitated, though, would Reid want him here? Did Reid want him at all?

“Oh?” Katie tried to keep herself still, but there were a dozen or so questions streaming through her mind.

“Katie, I’m…” Luke’s voice trailed off, and he shook his head. “I thought this would get easier to say.”

Quickly containing herself, Katie closed the distance between them and gently placed her hand on Luke’s shoulder. “Luke, honey, what is it?”

“I’m gay,” he whispered.

Her lips came together in a small smile, and Katie nodded her head. “Okay.”

“That’s it?” Luke checked.

She shrugged gently. “Well the sparks between you and Reid are kind of blinding, Luke.”

His mouth fell open.

“It’s okay, I’m happy for you, both of you,” she was quick to assure the young man. She knew Reid would kill her if she somehow screwed this up for him. “You guys…you’ll be good for each other.”

“We argue all the time,” Luke noted. “And are you sure he-”

“Brad and I were like that, too,” Katie countered. “And we wasted time, not really listening to each other and trusting…” She had to stop feeling the tears clog her throat.

Luke’s hands automatically reached up and he pulled Katie toward him. He held her as she started to sob gently. “I promise, Katie, you’ll find that again.”

“I’m not sure if I want to,” she whispered, burrowing further into Luke. It was nice to be comforted, to be held. She missed Brad’s strength. One of the most difficult parts of losing him was not being able to lean on him to pull her through. She didn’t know if she was strong enough, and even all these months later, she still doubted that.

Luke started to rub soothing circles across her back. “Just remember what you got out of it. Jacob is amazing.”

The door opened, and Reid stood there for a moment. He’d gotten Luke’s texts and emails, and every time he tried to respond, his fingers froze, hovering over the keys. Finally, he decided to get a quick shower and track Luke down, maybe continue more of their foreplay fighting. What he didn’t expect was to see his boyfriend-that would take some getting used to-in the arms of his roommate. He’d seen similar encounters like this before. It didn’t help.

Luke’s hands stilled and his gaze met Reid’s. He smiled helplessly, and his hands moved away from Katie.

“What’s going on?” Reid asked. “I thought you were…” He shook his head. He didn’t play games. “Katie, are you all right?”

She wiped at her tears and looked at Reid. “I’m fine,” she said.

“No, you’re not,” the doctor muttered and started to close the distance himself. There was nothing worse than seeing that woman cry. “What do you need?” he asked.

She gave him a water smile. “To know that you and Luke aren’t going to screw this up.”

Luke felt his cheeks flame and shoved his hands into his pockets. He wanted to beg Reid to know that Luke didn’t put her up to that, but he saw the bemused smile on the doctor’s face.

“I don’t make any promises,” Reid muttered.

The younger man felt sucker punched in the gut. He wondered if maybe his mother was right after all. Once Reid got everything he wanted for the wing, would that be it for them?

“Reid!” Katie smacked him on the chest with the back of her hand.

“I’m not talking about my relationship with you.” His gaze met Luke’s. “And neither is he.”

“Well, then it’s a beautiful day, Jacob and I are going for a walk.” She started to leave the room. “Do you boys want to join us?”

“I hate fresh air,” Reid replied his gaze never leaving Luke’s.

Katie made a hasty retreat.

The blonde smirked. “Not sure how I’m going to get you to the farm then.”

Reid started to walk toward Luke. “Farm?”

“The Snyder farm, my family-”

The doctor wrapped his arms around Luke’s waist and pressed a gentle kiss to his mouth. “What about your family?”

Luke’s eyes drifted shut and he wondered how he could doubt this. Reid’s hands came to Luke’s sides and gripped his hips for a moment.

“I told them,” the blonde admitted.

“Yeah, I got your messages. I was going to see you, but I guess you found me first.”

“My dad…he already knew, but my mom…” He sighed and started to shake his head.

Reid tucked his fingers under Luke’s chin. “What?” He forced Luke’s gaze to meet his.

“She thinks… Reid, what do you want from me?”

“Isn’t that obvious?” the doctor questioned.

“Don’t mind us!” Katie announced loudly as she came back into the room. She pushed Jacob’s stroller quickly through the room.

The two men separated immediately, and Reid glared at his roommate. “How long will you be gone?”

“Reid,” Luke hissed.

“Long enough,” she offered and headed out.

“Reid, do you have to be-”

“What?” Reid asked his lips pursed for a moment. “Myself? I thought that’s who you wanted. One talk with your mommy and she’s trying to convince you of what, exactly?”

Luke hastily shook his head. “Nothing. I guess when you come from my money you just suspect that everyone-”

The doctor had never gotten to have a full conversation with Luke’s mother. He’d seen the woman a few times at the hospital, heard her voice checking on Luke, but once he actually met her… A fist formed at his side. He would have to have a long talk with that woman about how incredible her son is, and that she of all people should be aware of that.

“I want you for sex, Luke; the money is just a bonus.” He shrugged briefly.

Luke’s mouth fell open, and he started to stumble toward the door. Reid’s hand automatically came out and grabbed the blonde’s forearm.

“Luke, you know how I feel about you. I’m still here, aren’t I? If I just wanted a one night stand, Chicago isn’t that far away. And as far as the money…” His palm opened and closed and slide up Luke’s arm. “You never give in to me. You fight and make me justify every instrument, every inch of space. And that’s just hot.”

The blonde turned for a moment, a smile tugged at his lips before his gaze met the doctor’s. “Do you mean it?” he checked. “I mean we’ve been in this exactly two days…you’re not ready to bolt yet?”

“I’ve been in this since you rushed into that elevator and kept staring at me, because I was so dumbstruck I couldn’t speak.”

Luke’s smile was almost blinding and he pulled loose. His arms crossed over his chest. “Yeah?”

“Absolutely,” he promised. Reid’s hand bounced gently against his leg for a moment before coming up and tugging on Luke’s shirt. “I’m not sure what Katie’s definition of ‘enough time’ is…but…” His gaze was drawn to blonde’s mouth. “It’ll never be enough.”

“Better make the most of it then,” Luke murmured before his lips crashed into Reid’s.

*

Two weeks later, Luke found himself in the same position. Katie was out. Neither man knew for how long, but since she’d just left, they’d hoped for more time. The men were dating, which usually meant Luke stopped by the hospital whenever he could with coffee, plans, or just the need to see Reid. The last option was usually the prevailing one.

The moment Katie had closed the door, Reid had grabbed Luke’s hand and pulled him toward the couch. Their lips crashed together, their hands constantly tugging and grabbing for purchase, and Luke fell onto Reid.

The doctor pulled away. “Are you okay?” he checked.

Luke didn’t trust his voice but simply nodded his head and leaned in for more. The kissing continued, Reid’s hands running up and down Luke’s sides. The blonde squirmed; it tickled at first, and then Reid slipped his hand underneath Luke’s shirt, his cool fingers running down the blonde’s spine. Reid was constantly testing, waiting for Luke to pull away. Kissing, wandering hands, heated gazes, the blonde was growing more comfortable with them each time, but Reid would be lying if he didn’t admit to his frustration or fear Katie’s reaction to the water bill. He felt Luke still above him, but Reid kept kissing, his hand sliding down, his fingers tugging at the waist of Luke’s jeans. The blonde pulled up for a moment.

“Luke?”

He shook his head and leaned back down. “I-I’m okay,” he tried to assure Reid. He appreciated Reid’s patience, but Luke was still afraid to admit what he was feeling.

“Yeah?” Reid checked, his hand slipping free and coming to grip Luke’s hips, his own waist lifted up, meeting Luke halfway.

The blonde gasped and tried to kiss Reid again, but the doctor continued to move, grinding his hips into Luke’s. He’d felt the younger man’s erection and was encouraged. Making out like teenagers was fun, but neither one of them was a teenager any more and each moment counted.

“Re-Re-Reid,” Luke’s voice was raw, his throat scratchy, as he tried to hold himself back.

“Just let go,” Reid whispered urgently, his fingers dug into Luke’s hips. “I’m right here, just let go…”

The two men continued to rut against each other. Luke tried to hold back, afraid of how good everything felt with Reid. But the doctor wasn’t going to be deterred. Reid’s left hand slipped between them while his mouth crashed into Luke’s again. The younger man’s tongue slipped between Reid’s and the doctor was lost for a moment, welcoming him in. Then, Reid’s hand moved, again seeking Luke and he tugged on the blonde’s pants, trying to unbutton them and finally slipping his hand in, searching for Luke’s cock. The younger man tried to pull away, the sensations overwhelming him and he wasn’t sure if he was ready for this, but Reid wasn’t going to let Luke give into his fears. His warm fingers wrapped around Luke, a gentle squeeze and it was all Luke needed. The younger man came with a shout, and his body continued to shake, riding out the orgasm. It started in his balls and radiated out his fingertips. He collapsed on top of Reid, his head burrowing into the doctor’s neck.

After a few moments, realizing what he’d done, how he’d… Luke scrambled off of Reid and ran toward the bathroom.

“He still runs,” Reid muttered trying to sit up. His own erection hadn’t diminished; he’d been too focused on getting Luke off, and he carefully walked after his boyfriend. “Luke?” the doctor gently knocked on the bathroom door. He heard running water in response. “Luke?”

Testing the handle, Reid opened the door; Luke was frantically trying to wipe at his shirt and jeans, the dark stain spreading from all the water. A smile tugged at the redhead’s lips. “Luke…” He rested against the doorframe.

“Can I borrow a pair of scrubs? Brad was so tall; I think I’d swim in his clothes.” Katie still wasn’t ready to get rid of his things. They’d talked about it a couple of months ago and, as far as Luke was aware, that hadn’t change.

“Luke.”

“Please!” He begged his hand yet to still. He couldn’t look Reid in the eyes as he frantically tried to clean himself up.

Reid returned a few moments later and placed the scrubs on the toilet seat. He reached for Luke. “Shh, shh,” the doctor began. “Don’t be embarrassed.”

“How can I not be?” he asked miserably. He tossed the washcloth against the sink. “I… It’s like I’m fifteen again,” he muttered.

Remembering their previous conversations, Reid had to ask, “Do you mean you want to drink? I told you, Luke, you can have me, you don’t need alcohol.”

“No.” Luke shook his head, and it took every ounce of strength he had to meet Reid’s gaze. “I couldn’t control myself. We’ve just… You kiss me and I… I couldn’t control myself.”

“I love that.”

“Reid…”

“And Luke, that was what I was aiming for. I wanted you to come. And as far as feeling out of control…I feel it too, believe me.” He reached for Luke. The kiss started slow. Reid’s erection had deflated somewhat, but kissing Luke, the desire went straight to his cock and he knew exactly what Luke worried about, coming too soon. Luke’s hands came up; holding Reid and the doctor pulled him closer.

Luke pulled away with a gasp. He’d felt Reid’s erection. “I’m sorry. I’m not ready for… I’m sorry.” He turned away, reaching for the washcloth again.

Reid nodded his head. “You set the pace, Luke, but the fact that I made you come…”

The blonde couldn’t meet Reid’s gaze, and the doctor reached out for the washcloth. He pulled it out of Luke’s hands and tugged on the ends of the younger man’s shirt.

“Reid, what are you doing?” his voice was a little breathless, fear and anticipation, lacing through the words.

The redhead tugged on the buttons of Luke’s shirt and pulled it off the younger man. Dropping the shirt to the floor, Reid said, “Checking to see if you blush all over.” He picked up the washcloth and started to wipe down Luke’s chest. He moved slowly, taking his time, watching the quick intake of Luke’s breaths, the way his chest moved in and out, seeing the top of the blonde’s underwear. His gaze covered every inch of Luke’s exposed skin. “Missed a spot,” he murmured, leaning down and pressing an open-mouth kissed to the area right above Luke’s right nipple.

“Reid,” the blonde panted and his hands came up, holding the doctor in place. “Reid…” His hand opened and his fingers threaded through his hair.

The doctor continued to kiss and suck at the skin. After a few moments, he pulled loose. “Don’t apologize if you’re about to come again,” the doctor instructed and his mouth returned to Luke’s. Reid wasn’t sure how much longer he would be able to control himself.

One of Luke’s hands tugged out of the doctor’s hair and worked its way between their bodies. His fingertips trailed down Reid’s chest, finding the top button of his pants. His hand stilled as Reid slipped his tongue into Luke’s mouth. The blonde gasped, and his hand faltered for a moment. Luke’s own tongue met Reid’s dueling for control while his hand tugged on the doctor’s pants, undoing the button and tugging on the zipper. Reid was so caught up in the kiss and the ache in his cock that he wasn’t aware of Luke’s ministrations until a warm palm was wrapped around his cock.

Reid pulled back with a gasp. His eyes were full of questions, but Luke’s gaze didn’t waver. His hand moved, a little jerky and clumsy. Reid’s cock was leaking, and using some of the come, the younger man opened his grip, his movements smoother, still hesitant, but he continued on. He varied the pace, his grip loose and then tight. Reid tried to direct his gaze on Luke, encouraging the younger man that Reid wanted this. But Luke was focused on Reid’s cock and the redhead’s eyes lost their focus. His loud pants echoed throughout the small space. The doctor wanted to hold on, make it last, but Luke was right-Reid felt like he was 15 again. Soon Reid’s come gushed over Luke’s hand, and a few moments later he finally stilled.

The doctor’s heart was pounding, but he grabbed Luke’s face in his hands and pulled him close. His lips crashed into Luke’s again.

“Was that okay?” Luke asked breathlessly, when Reid finally let him go.

“What?” All of Reid’s brain functioning was devoted to keeping himself standing up, and he couldn’t be sure of how to track this conversation.

“I’m sorry,” Luke muttered, turning back to the sink. He quickly washed off his hands.

“Stop saying that,” Reid commanded, tugging on Luke’s arm and turning the blonde around. “Why did you…?”

“I didn’t want to be the only one who feels 15. I wanted to know if I could make you, of all people, lose control.” He offered shy grin before voicing his other concern. “I’m sorry I’m not ready for the other things… I want to be. I just…I need…”

“Luke, I told you. I’m in this. I’ll let you set the pace, but Luke, I’m not dead and I don’t want you to act like you are, either.”

Luke nodded his head and smiled. “It’s all so new to me…”

“You’re doing great,” Reid assured him.

The younger man leaned over and pressed a soft kiss to Reid’s lips. “I guess I should…” He gestured to the scrubs Reid had brought in.

“Yeah, me too,” the doctor noted. He kissed Luke again before heading toward his own bedroom.

Later, when Katie returned she couldn’t help but notice the scrubs Luke was wearing. “Blue’s a good color for you,” she noted, a grin dancing at her lips.

Luke muttered a quick thank you and raced out of the apartment. He didn’t even kiss Reid good-bye.

The redhead couldn’t hide his grimace when his gaze met Katie’s. “What?”

“If you want the place to yourself, all you have to do is ask. I was gone quite a while…”

Reid shook his head; she wasn’t gone long enough. “It’s not like that. Luke just had a… He spilled something on his pants.”

"I’ll bet…" She smirked.

So not full out sex, but still NC-17. My second time putting that into a series (first for Luke/Reid), please be gentle with me. And I won’t leaving you hanging with just that, the next (and final) chapter is rated NC-17 as well. Thank you for reading and commenting.  ~Ali
