I love this story...If I ever could see this happening for real..I can see it just like this...It's just seems so tangible...Can't wait until the next one.
More awesomeness! Feeling like we're finally getting somewhere with these boys. I feel as impatient now as I did when trying to figure out if my husband were interested in me back when we first met. It was so consuming. Could hardly do my job and think about anything else. Glad both van and Eric have someone to talk to. People who seem like they really want to help their friends get to that place that seems so obvious to bystanders.
Oh, and loved that hug! Clearly drawn to each other. Only a matter of time before the dam breaks!
I really enjoyed the rehearsal--the emotional undercurrents were so intense. As the hug was happening, I definitely felt as though it was wandering away from the Davis and Campbell characters and was not surprised the director picked up on it.
Van had looked scared. Eric looked uncertain
This feels true to the difference in their age and experience.
This rehearsal was one of my favorites to write and I'm so glad you felt the undercurrents and I agree I think they weren't exactly acting up there it. I really liked your comment about the differences in their age and experience. ~Ali
wow...I had to reread the whole thing again before I can even comment because I think I was so swept away the first time! :D Again, I have to say that this play just sucks you in...and the hug was so emotionally raw (the whole scene really) that of course!..the director can't help but see it. The chemistry between them was so palpable and damn I got chills!
And Eric dated another man?! Ooohhh...I can't wait until Van finds out. :P And speaking of Van, he was so bewildered about his feelings and I sure can't blame him...then and now...the lines are starting to blur (again). The next chapter one can't come soon enough for me Ali!
I'm blushing by your comment that you had to read the chapter 2x and your enjoyment of the play. The hug/scene was a chance to push them forward. Van's reaction to Eric's past will be interesting. And Van is bewildered and so unsure of what to do with those feelings. I'm so grateful you're anxious for chapter 7. I'll post again on Sunday. Thank you! ~Ali
How did you feel about the hug? Did you like it or feel embarrassed for Van and Eric?
Yes to both! It was amazingly done. You wrote it beautifully...so, of course I could feel their embarrassment. BUT I liked it. It was intense and wow...just wow.
