Leaning heavily against the door, Luke tried to catch his breath. His palm felt sweaty, and he was shaking. He thought what he felt when Katie kissed his cheek the other day had been attraction, a desire, but what he felt when Dr. Oliver touched him…
“It’s nothing,” he told himself and shakily ran his fingers through his hair a few times. “It’s nothing."
Luke, ya big old liar...IT'S NOT NOTHING, IT'S SOMETHING!!!!!
Ali, this is pure brilliance and better than I hoped for! I love jealous/protective Luke! His reaction to the whole Reid and Katie situation from the moment he realized that Reid was there to Katie calling Reid by his first name to him warning Reid not to hurt Katie...funny and sweet at the same time.
(I wish I was awake enough leave a more thought out, detailed comment, but I've been awake all night and this is the best I can come up with for now.)
Yeah, Luke is going to need to figure out it's something. It might be a while, though. Thank you so much for your lovely comment (and the prompt, of cousre). Reid was definitely playing with poor Luke's head. Go to bed, though. Thank you! ~Ali
First of all, I bow to your brilliance. So much about this makes me uncomfortable, it's so different, but that's just a tribute to your writing.
The notion of Luke being straight is just so strange to me, and his thought of being attracted to Katie creeps me out. And having that long of a relationship with Maddie? Yuck!
Reid is still very much Reid, and I really like the way he pushes Luke's buttons and visa versa. That part of both of their personalities is so in character. Luke must be completely confused now that he's had that crazy feeling of attraction after shaking Reid's hand.
This is going to be so good! I can't wait for more. (Sunday?)
Thank you. Luke being straight was odd for me to wrap my mind around too. Glad you thought I was able to keep Reid in character and they totally push each other's buttons. Luke will be confused, I'm afraid. And yes, next update on Sunday. Thank you. ~Ali
Everything is sort of upside down with Luke and Katie and Reid and the relationships between them. Somehow I love that. There are so many possibilities here and I'm going to love seeing where it goes.
Thank you! I liked how you described the relationships as upside down. It's going to follow some of the show and some other things, but I hope you continue to enjoy the journey. ~Ali
Oh man this is SOOOOOOOOOO FANTASTIC! I loved every bit of it, but all I can think is that I have to wait till Sunday for the next chapter. :( OMG, seriously that last bit had me sqeeeeeing. It has me too giddy to really make any decent comments, sorry.
Thank you! Yes, sorry no new update until Sunday (too busy, I'm afraid). I'm glad you liked the last part, it was one of my favorites to write. And I loved your comment, please don't apologize. ~Ali
