Tutorial: Importing .grd files into PSP

Jul 17, 2006 14:40

Paint Shop Pro will only import gradients in GRD format. If you make a gradient in a later version of PSP (the .pspGradient format) and want to use it in an older version of PSP, you'll have to export the new gradient and then import it into the older program.

But that's easy to do (if kinda tedious...)

*blink* For some strange reason, either I'm only seeing this now, or I forgot that I saw it before. Would you terribly mind if I linked this in the user info ( because that's exactly the last tut we've been missing! )?

Great, thanks. :) My making any tutorials for PSP has been largely boycotted by the fact that I have PSP7,8 and 9... in German. So I'm always glad if someone else writes that stuff.

Hi -

I use PSP8 (8.1, to be specific), and whenever I try to import a .grd file (like this one or this one, I get a message saying:

"There is a problem opening the currently selected gradient file."

I'm thinking it's maybe because these are gradient sets, and was wondering if there's anyway to get around this, or should I just stick to singular .grd files and ones made for PSP?

Thanks.

So that's what i was supposed to do with the new .grd files, it looks so simple now that i have read your post. I have no problem with most of the common file extensions usually, but .grd files are quite new to me and i really had no idea how to solve this problem.
