We spent the entire week, up until yesterday, at Florenci's mum's house, while plumbers and builders smashed up stuff in our kitchen and bathroom ( Read more... )

Thanks. :)

We had to fight off Florenci's mum and sister, trying to insist that we fork out to totally re-do both rooms.
I know a lot of peole do that but we're really only interested in having things that function and using the rest of what money we have for more interesting things, like travel and books. ;D

Wow--it's like a whole new house! Congratulations--I know just how much having stuff that works and isn't grungy can improve your quality of life.

Renovations rule
Keep the telephone of those guys handy. I have an apartment to renew (whenever the renter leaves) and it looks like a good job :)

zomg I REALLY like what you've done!!

Also, I'm amazed how many things you said about households there apply here!

One thing that surprised me is that you didn't change the wall the shower head connected to. I've been playing around with the dorm's shower head, and it's really simple.

We could and may still do so.
My preference is for having it at the head of the bath, as I said.
But we only though of it afterwards.
Might do it in the future but the important thing for now is that I'm not bruising bits of my anatomy every time I shower! :D

Thanks for the intimate look in and around your toilet - exactly what I needed after lunch! ;P

See, these are the kind of renovations I wish we could do in our flat - but because we're renting, we'd rather not see our rent go up and just wait until we can afford our own flat.

Your place looks really nice now. :)

Hey man, I don't force anyone to look, I just put it out there.. ;)

This is probably going to be the only time in our lives that we have a bit of cash to get it done and they were necessities, rather than "Tired of this colour now, let's change it" sort of thing, so we're pleased we got it all done.

I just used the oven for the first time, for dinner tonight, after a whole year without one! And bear in mind, I grew up using an oven an awful lot more than a stove top.
