Floods, earthquakes, volcanic explosions...

End of days?

Doesn't matter if you think it's global warming provoked by man, The Apocalypse, a natural part of the earth's lifecycle (i.e. death) or something else altogether - whichever way you look at it, we're falling to pieces.

The urge to get out and see the world, while it's still here to be seen, is getting stronger by the day...

La veritat és que jo he tingut pensaments similars i no pas pel volcà... Al cap i a la fi sóc una persona de ciències que contempla les erupcions volcàniques com una cosa prou normal... Ara bé, pel tema personal... Hi estic totalment d'acord

Maybe it's because I grew up in California, but the earth moves, shivers, floods and spews. This is normal. The more land we inhabit the more we are aware of it. One of my favorite bible quotes is "Men come and go, but earth abides."

Though any excuse to travel is good, it's quite beautiful out there.

Oh, I come from earthquake country myself.

It just seems that there's an increasing frequency in the number of serious natural disasters, around the world.

As I say, it's not that I necessarily think they're unnatural (though there are other things that deifnitely are a result of our abuse of the planet) but it doesn't really matter whether they're natural or not; at a certain point, they could well result in an unsurvivable situation for humanity.

Hey!

I know what you mean. I do echo the other Californian's sentiments though too - earthquakes? been there done that!

I read something about how the UK was facing shortages of lots of commonly bought products that are made elsewhere because of the flight restrictions - like bananas, for example. This brought the obvious point that things made and grown in Britain would NOT be in short supply. It's kind of depressing to think about how much CO2 is released into the atmosphere for every banana that is brought to market outside of the tropics. This is off topic, but anyways I was reminded.

I have been feeling the wanderlust as well. I am not sure where I'll be or what I'll be doing after this school year, which is kind of exciting!
