... and a happy wish for 2006 for all of you.

To quickly sum up my the remains of my Christmas. When I came home from the old folks home with my grandmother, my mother and sister had arrived. The afternoon went slowly. I had brough my fotoalbum of pictures from my Bulgaria trip, but only managed to show my grandmother them, as she was very ( Read more... )

Sounds nice. Why do you make the moving your life's major issue? it's ridiculous

That IS my life's major issue right now. And if you don't understand that, then read back, and realise how much there is to it. It's about finding a home, finally. About being able to place my things, and have them in order. So, you can say what you like Boskovitch.

I LOVE my cell phone...you will give in to it's lure! You will cancel your obsolete ground line!

How old is your sister? And NFL...did they show the Rose Bowl over there? I was so disappointed USC didn't win...my sister goes to law school there.

Sounds like a nice enough Christmas! I know what you mean about possessions weighing you down. Every now and then I have to do some major clearing to lighten my load. It's getting to be about that time as it is...

I read your entry, so I know you like it. But I won't for moral and health reasons. Problem is, that with my new place, getting a ground line is difficult. But I'd hate only to have a cell phone. I rarely talk on the phone though, so I guess it'll be even more rare after that.

No, they only show NFL, and only a few games. Iron bowl and Rose bowl are things I've just heard about. I don't really know what they're about.

Yes, it's true. But the problem is, when you just got it as a present, you cant throw it out. It's just such a waste of money...

Ground lines here cost so much in taxes and they are littered - positively littered - with sales calls, at all hours, constantly ringing. It's horrible. At least with my cell phone I know it's only my friends calling. :)

I like football well enough...the Rose Bowl is a college championship game. This year it was USC (University of Southern California) vs. Texas...the game is played in Southern California. My sister goes to law school there...plus, living here, we were all rooting for California by default. There's a little bit of politcal animosity for Texas from much of California along the conservative vs. liberal lines, in a general sense.

It IS a waste of money. Things like heifer.org are such much more worthwhile gifts. I usually end up giving it away to the Goodwill (charity) or a Veteran's association (since the US tends to not take the greatest care of its veterans after they've served their military purpose). Occasionally I'll sell stuff on ebay but then I usually feel guilty and don't want to hassle with the post ( ... )

I love the way you agonize over one lousy book that you don't like! Just give it away, either to charity or to someone who you know would like it. That way it's not a waste of money at all because someone somewhere will appreciate it. It's more of a waste if it sits in your room and no-one ever reads it and you get more and more annoyed with it because it takes up space! Free the book! It wants to be free ( ... )

Hey! Well, at least in your situation, you got refound for them, and gave it back to family members. I couldn't in that way dispose from a present from my mother. She would ask where it was, and how would she react if she heard I gave it away?

Thank you so much. Funny, at the same moment I read your comment, my sister send me a message (and it was only the second one in 5 days, so it was quite a co-incidence).
