Hail and Farewell

Feb 28, 2006 22:42

It's time to say goodbye from here... As most of you know, I am in the planning of moving, and the days are moving fast, so, it's time. In 10 hours the huge car/small mini bus thing will come to collect all my stuff, and I almost haven't packed anything yet, so no sleep for me. So, tomorrow will be a big day, and I'm shiveringly nervous. Also for ( Read more... )

I had hoped you would say "may the force be with you", or maybe that's not Star Wars?

Anyways, thanks mr. Obi-Wan

thanks, and I'm sorry I never got to reply to your update about the oil diminishment. I had planned to write something about it, but in the end it got to stressed and I never got it done. I'm not to worried about the oil vanishing, it would somehow teach humans a lesson the hard way, for their overconsumption. The only thing I worry about, is that if suddenly the oil was depleted, then the Alaska wild life which does contain oil in the underground, would be doomed.

Don't worry. It's such a massive ( and earnest?) topic that I'm not surprised no one responded.

I've been aware of the issue for many years, yet until recently was unaware it was already upon us. I also hadn't considered how serious the global consequences would be. It need not be depressing, though, if we consider modern Cuba as a reasonably succesful example of a practically post-oil economy.

I subscribe to a feed of peak oil articles that you can see on my friends page. You probably already know about the excellent EnergyBulletin.net site. (Not that you have much time for the internet these days - and good on you! I need to cultivate a similar discipline...)

I must admit, that energy and the prospects of it, never took my extreme interest. But yes, good on me, for not having the time. Now instead of being at the internet all day, I sit and play the same computer games over and over again. "Some say that's progress, I say it's cruel" as Midnight Oil once said. Man, I really miss that band!

Good luck with the move! Moving is always so stressful but hopefully worth it in the end. Plus it's a great opportunity to get rid of lots of junk, which is always a good thing. I hope all your little "teething problems" sort themselves out soon (((hugs))).

thank you Ann. I know about the lots of things to get rid off. During the move I saw all those things I hadn't thought of for years. I really have to throw some of that out. But unfortunally my mother insists on giving me things I don't want nor need. I had these buckets I never used, which only took up place in my small bathroom, and I hated them, but now she brings more, I have only needed one for 3 years, what makes her think I now need 5? I despair!
