To the matter at hand, I'm so sorry you feel this way. I sympathize because I've known it myself, many times. And there's no easy answer to give. I haven't regretted seeing a doctor about it, though.

what a sad update! please stop concentrating on this and start doing something. there is no use just nagging. you are in a much better position than many other people. There are so many wonderful things around, it's not reasonable to sort of lock yourself out. I hope you do better this year!
