Its a quote from his work titled On Bullshit, where he takes a serious look at, well, bullshit.

w.r.t. this specific quote, herr Frankfurt is noting how the word 'shit' connotes a certain level of crudeness. He then shows this is not necessarliy the case with bullshit. His example: politics. Game, set, and match, my friend.

Nice thought.
I don't fully understand the quote, or the context, & have not read the book, but I differ in opinion. Perhaps at times Frankfurt is correct, however I do strongly believe that BS in any, and perhaps all context is of design and craft, and is most certainly wrought. That someone would believe otherwise is mysterious.
Yet this is my mere 2 cents.

In the original quote Frankenfurter is speaking directly of producing feces from your anus. To him that process is not very planned out at all(although I'm sure a religous standpoint may disagree with me :p). But you're right about bullshit. The reason he goes into such detail about the process of producing feces from your anus (ie shitting) is so he can discuss how he finds it different from bull-shitting.

I just loved the quote too much not to tell the world about it. I would also like to thank you, danika, for giving me the opportunity to use the phrase 'producing feces from your anus.' That has made my day brighter.
