well said, very well said. Regarding paragraph six, about ancient cultures sporting tattoos for pride: it's not even ancient. My friend in the marines got his first tattoo as a camaraderie stunt with his buddies. I'm totally with you on the saline bag with spikes ... most of what you described would freak me out hard core. My ears are only pierced because my mom had the doc do it when I was like 3 or something and didn't have much choice, and it was some kind of cultural thing, like you alluded to. Truth be told I'm pretty uncomfortable with the whole idea of irreversible body modification. 'Cause yeah, I'll paint my nails for the hell of it or something along those lines, and I'll wear earrings if I think it's safe cause the holes are already there, but even though I'm sure I could handle any kinda tattoo or piercing torture someone wanted to throw my way, I'd have to go down fighting, because I find it creepier than cool ( ... )

...yeah. I think i'll be quiet now.

thanks for the note about the links. I fixed them so they'll work now. I especially recomend the eyball tatooing.

Okay, I got as far as page 5 on the site, and I'm pretty grossed out. Not all if it is terrible to see, but some of it just turns my stomach. I don't think I could handle seeing some of those things in real life. I wonder if people are really so bored with life & their bodies? That is how it seems in some cases.
