How to tell if someone is lying to you about Net Neutrality:

If they claim content providers, like Google and Yahoo, aren't paying for the content that they provide to you.

This is a bald-faced lie, but they keep saying it over and over to try to convince people that it's "only fair" to force those companies to pay for bandwidth that you use ( Read more... )

Keep in mind that the telcos have been seeding the debate with astroturfing sockpuppets and fake "grass-roots" websites advocating against regulation. You might have been talking to one of them.

Well, I wasn't actually talking to this person. It was just a post made on some other site by someone claiming to work for an ISP. But you're right, it could just be a lobbying stooge.
