I'm glad to hear you are on the mend, and I'll send you an iPhone message about it shortly (been busy learning how to use it)
1. Yes, it's more than a bit rubbish. I can't seem to make a settings change to 'Friend' limited stick (no 'enable' button).
2. Good luck! It has distinctly soporific qualities! For a quicker between-drug-haze reading, I recommend "Bicycle Diaries" by David Byrne (Talking Heads) - it's a lot of fun so far.
3. I wish you every success!
4. Yep, I recall what it was like taking care of a friend with a broken leg...for months!
5. Beyond reading for Locus, you should endeavour to drive one! ;-)
I am somewhat concerned about the MASSIVE STORM that has taken the Bay Area this morning, but I have work to attend to. The office picnic might be postponed I imagine. And the seismic drill will almost certainly catch many unprepared.
In contrast to the technical perfection / no feeling (or false feeling) problem plaguing the Emerson and latter Guarneri cycles, the Prazak Quartet bring technical perfection AND great feeling to their set, they give themselves up to these works and plumb depths I've never heard any other group reach. Those latter qualities also apply, in different ways, to the Vanbrugh and Vegh cycles, with more than enough technical polish to go around, although the Vanbrugh are quite plain-spoken about it, which is an unexpected joy in itself. Gosh, I guess those three really would be my desert island choices, if I was forced to limit the number of my late Beethoven quartet recordings to just three: Prazak, Vanbrugh, Vegh.

As for the tiredness, I've always been a firm believer that the body knows best when it needs a rest, and I try to accommodate as much as possible.

Do give yourself some little treats--not chocolate, as you've wisely ruled, but much-loved or saved-up reading and music and media.
