I went back to the beginning of this journal and read everything. It didn't take as long as I thought it might. It was interesting to see the different phases, the things that were tried and abandoned, the things that ran their course and the things that have always been a part of it

I like the "appointment blogging" idea; for myself I've found that it works best as a semi-defined series of posts, like "an installment of this already-finished work of fiction on the next x number of Mondays", or "for the next year I'll be Learning New Things". (Unfortunately I appear to be rather hopeless at actually writing to a schedule, as witness the irregularity of posts for my current fiction project... {sigh}) Start small and see how it works out, I guess?

I like the idea. That being said, at the moment I feel like what I have to say isn't very interesting to anyone, and my own life is throwing stuff at me at a rate where I would be breaking the appointment all the time.
