Restoration

My mother's father passed away while I was in high school, the first of my grandparents to die. My mom is big on making sure that we grandkids have something to remember our grandparents by so when she visited earlier this year she gave me an old pocket knife that had belonged to him ( Read more... )

i'll pat myself on the back -- i'm really good at sharpening knives with plain old dry-stones. my grandfather taught me -- he sharpens knives for the other "kids" (folks under 60...) on the island b/c they can't do it right.

If there is still rust and build up, soak it in vinegar. That is used for many historical artifacts to get rust and tarnish off without damaging the metal.
