I'm a huge fan of post apocalyptic movies. I must say that the introduction to Beach party filled me with wild hopes for its content. It seemed to be in the vein of the Fallout computer games - where a hero emerges from a fallout shelter to an unknown, post apocalyptic world full of interesting characters and strange horrors.
Some sense of the desolation of the US, of people's suffering in an irradiated wasteland would have been apropriate and added to the mood, even if comedy was the subject of the movie.
Does Chevy Chase get eviscerated, defenestrated or otherwise mutilated? Cos that would rock. Not enough to watch the whole disaster, but maybe to see some YouTube clips...
