Yes, it's too much to ask, apparently. Just like it's too much to ask everyone with their stupid cell phones and - even worse - those unbelieveably obnoxious walkie-talkie-cell-phones that need to all burst into flames and be destroyed to be quiet.
People don't know how to be quiet on the phone.
Even my mom, who is usually incredibly considerate of other people, has a tendency to be louder on the phone, and to stand in this one spot in their house that means her voice projects loudly into the den, where the tv is. So, if we were watching a movie or tv show, we'd always have to turn the volume way up if mom was on the phone.
