Conference just ended, at 5:15pm pacific time. I am exhausted. To be frank I felt a little bit out of place here, not necessarily for the usual reasons... but because I have been slowly learning that I'm definitely more interested in 2-D animation, art direction, story telling, etc... as opposed to number crunching with 3D animation

It's good that you figured it out then to get too far in and find out you're unhappy. Sometimes we have to endure things because it shows us what we want, or in some cases, what we really should be doing. I think it's awesome that you know more about what you want!

Hey that's a good thing to find out. Now you can focus your energy on interests in the 2-D and art directing world. With your appreciation for the 3D arts, you'll go far.

Personally I feel that the 2D animations have a special charm and beauty to them. I finally got a chance to watch "Iron Giant" and I have to say it was magnificent! (The colors, the setting, the story, etc). They don't make animated movies like that anymore.
