god. I'm so glad you ranted on that. someone else I'm acquainted with (who's not in the sca) mentioned recently that she had to buy something 'medievally inspired' to wear to a 'period-themed' wedding. and of course, what she bought was the typical ren-faire whore gear. fortunately, the point isn't to be period, but still - you're so right about modern fashion impulses and their clash when people envision what the clothing of the past looks like.

I'm right there with you. To be honest I would probably wear my garb at all times if I wouldn't be carted off to teh looney bin, mainly because it does fit loosely, it doesn't cut into spots I don't want cut into and it's comfy! I hate seeing girls/women stuffed into clothing, they look uncomfortable and it isn't flattering to them either. Plus, the extra material hides some of my flaws,I don't know why you would want to wear it tight.
