That could be with the second part, but it's still a mistake. That makes two "fails" in the sentence. Since the person was giving a grammar lesson, that's two too many. ;)

Not to be picky, but do you mean "malapropism"? I googled the word you used because I had no idea what it meant, and auto-correct kicked in. Just making sure I understand you. :)

No, I meant mal-malapropism. That is a malapropism that turned out not to be.

When one has to explain humor, is it humor?.
