I should be productive right now, but I feel far too lazy/wiped out. I've had a busy few weeks. And I'm almost done my manuscript write-ups! YUS!

I've been playing A LOT of Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King. My settlement is an EMPIRE now and I'm only two dungeons away from the temple were King Epitav is kept.
I think if/when Alisa gets her own ( Read more... )

Re. American live-action: That causes me physical pain. I'm not kidding. I have a stomachache now. =\ I can tolerate the Japanese ones. I even like them, although I am embarrassed to admit it. But American? No. =\

MatsuKen is the only live-action L for me. ♥

Really? How come?
I don't think it's so bad. I mean, I understand people's fears of it becoming "Americanized" or somesuch, but I'm always interested when things like movies or books are reinterpreted in a different context or culture.
Like how HBO did As You Like It being set in Japan when countries like France and England were setting up trade settlements. It was fascinating and cool.

Two reasons:

1) Anime doesn't translate well into live-action. We have already seen one kinda-sorta okay live-action Death Note, which is unlikely enough. What are the odds of two?
2) The English dub makes me giggle -- but also vaguely nauseates me sometimes. This does not bode well. More often than not Americanizations of other cultures' things are sensationalized, dumbed down, and diminished in quality. =\

1: TRUE. That can be quite difficult.
2: I think it depends on who's hired to write and direct. The actors play an important role as well, but they can be the best in the world and still suck if they don't have decent lines or direction.
