[Open:]

[Those in the library, you may find a small 13 year old girl asking for books on subjects seemingly too advanced for her. Musical theory, physics, history, she is testing the limits of what the town will tell her. No matter what she tries though, she gets books for little girls. Disappointment causes her to make a lineface, but she still ( Read more... )

[That's too bad. TOO BAD. Merem, hardly an imposing presence with his 14 year old size, follows her. Though while she's sitting, he is leaning against the door frame and just watching. It's clear to him that she has no idea what's wrong here.]

[Chizuko observers her pursuer through the polished oak of the table. Not much older than she is, or larger...But that, she knows, does not mean he isn't dangerous. She crosses her legs then stands up and heads down the hall, and into the girl's room. If she's going to lose him, here's the place, before she gets out onto the streets, which have less cover.]

[She was smarter than he had given her credit for. Or then again, maybe she was just not trusting. Regardless, he wasn't heading into the girl's room. Ciel would give him an earful or two in return if she found out and he'd prefer to not fall asleep and engage more of her wrath. So, he sauntered outside and grabbed a park bench. Someone would come out some time.]

[Both, really. There's no window, so it'll seem like she's SOL but she's a wily little thing and manages to unscrew a patched over panel and slip into the spaces between the walls. A few minutes later, she emerges out of the back of the library and brushes as much of the dust as she can from her clothes and hair. [ Japan is in the kitchen, and he seems to be preparing to start making breakfast when she comes up to him. He quickly notes her politeness and manners, the way she bows and introduces herself, her name- ]

Pleased to meet you as well, Chizuko Mikamo-san. You appear to have been placed in this house, so I will do my best to make your stay in here as pleasurable as possible. Has everything been explained to you yet?

I have not had it personally explained to me. However I can deduce that we are in a town in America, unwilling prisoners. The vast majority of residents claim to be from different planets, or different versions of the same planet. Exit by any physical means appears impossible at the moment. We are expected to fulfill the societal expectations of a person of our gender and age group. Children are expected to go to school, men are expected to earn money and women are expected to keep house. Many of the residents are 'drones', seemingly nonsentient automatons, following preprogammed behavioral paths. Did I miss anything?

Impressive, very impressive. Not only were you able to deduce this much, but your deductions are all one hundred percent correct, as well.

...There are also a few additional things you will need to be aware of. Firstly, upon arriving in this town, all of one's possessions, inhuman abilities, and anything else to remind them of their home are stripped away, reducing them to a human. However, these are regained over time. It appears that once in a while, certain unusual things happen in this town, and these possessions arrive in the mail afterward, though not always ( ... )
