Next to it she places a bowl of still steaming rice, with chopsticks embedded in it. She claps and bows to it, before kneeling. [ Japan is standing behind her- keeping his distance out of respect, but enough to hear her. He can read the kanji on the frame, as well- so for now, he allows his expression to remain openly sad. ]

[ He hesitates. He sees people die all the time- and he can feel them, as well, but.... ]

[She acknowledges that with a nod.]

Today is mother's day. They said it was cancer...from the aftereffects of the war. Even when they told her to stay inside and rest, she always wanted to go out to the sunlight.

[ Nadeko is peering curiously at what's happening from a small distance - she wonders if it's okay to watch since it seems rather personal and she can practically guess what it's about, but.. it seems a little sad as well. ]

Ah.. I'm sorry.. f-for your loss.

[ She watches Chizuko from behind the door before she steps outside. She was going to spend some time alone eating these snacks... but this isn't so bad. ]

Yes. Please forgive the rudeness of the question, but do you nations have parents?

Mm... In a way, you could say our people are our parents. They take care of us and help us grow... they made us. So it's only natural for us to love them.

I see. That shows that Taiwan-san is a kind person then. You don't have parents in the same way we do but you can empathize with someone who lost them anyway.
