YOUR CHARACTER
Fandom: The Daughter of Twenty Faces
Name: Chizuko "Chiko" Mikamo
Gender: F
Canon Reference:
http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheDaughterOfTwentyFaces ELEVENTOELEVEN
Conception: Normal
Mites: Regular. She has agility and reflex enhancements, taken in order to enhance her career as a thief. Of course this looks fishy. She told the doctors who examined her that they were taken in order to realize her childhood dream of being a gymnast. But does ADAMS believe her?*
*No.
Politics: Professed: Citizen (she's 14, you can be little else at that age) Actual: Resistance (via Twenty Faces)
Age: 14
History: It's a lot for an 11 year old girl to realize that her guardians are trying to kill her. Sure in the detective e-novels and holos she was so inordinately fond of, the brave girl detectives could always outwit their tormenters, leaving them sputtering and gasping. They foiled terrorist plots and caught corrupt officials red handed with equal ease.
But that was fantasy.
Fantasy turned out to be the only nourishment Chizuko had. Her stepparents (uncle and his wife) had been putting a slow acting poison in her food, all in order to kill her and thus gain the fortune of her deceased parents. She ate very little, growing increasingly weak. All her stories had taught her was how to detect the poison. They had always ended with the perps being handed in to ADAM. She knew this wasn't a possibility for her.
So she would sit in her room and watch her broadcast screen. The news at the time often had reports of the hunt to find the thief, The Man of Twenty Faces. ADAMS was always closing in. Forever just a moment behind him. The dragnet forever tightening.
Yet he always ended up quietly escaping.
She quieted the hunger pangs in her chest by quietly praying to herself: Twenty Faces, come take me away too.
As it turned out, she got her wish sooner than she thought. Her own butler was Twenty Faces himself, after a jewel in her inheritance. With the pretext of bringing Chizuko her bedtime meal, Twenty Faces entered her room near dawn and revealed himself to her. He offered her the choice: stay, and forget she'd ever seen him, or come with him, to live as one of his gang of thieves. Chizuko eagerly chose the second.
Twenty Face's gang robbed the house that very night. They planted a distracting explosive in the garden while Twenty Faces and Chizuko made off with the jewel.
This would turn out to be the beggining of the best two years of Chizuko's young life. Safely ensconced on the border of the slums and warehouse district in Twenty Faces' underground hideout, she found the surrogate family she never had at her stepparents. The Thieves, rough men and former ADAMS officers, treated her like a younger sister. Soon enough she was going on simple jobs. Twenty Faces himself was a kind man, admired by all his gang and nothing like the ruthless killer he was painted as in the media. In fact, he never murdered a person for their riches, using sleight of hand, disguise, speed, mite enhancement and sound planning to complete his jobs. Over time, Chizuko (now going by the nickname one of the other thieves had given her, Chiko) found out more about him and grew closer to her surrogate father. Apparently Twenty Faces had once been a high level ADAMS researcher, developing genetic and mite enhancements. He became disillusioned with his work, however, and burned his own laboratory to the ground decades ago. From those ashes, somehow Twenty Faces emerged.
This life was too idyllic to last.
Soon enough, the dragnet actually did close in, aided by a betrayal from one of Twenty Face's former colleagues. In the ensuing firefight, most of Twenty Face's men were killed. Twenty Faces himself was apparently caught in an explosion, though his body was never recovered. Chiko, stunned at his apparent death, was unable to offer any resistance when ADAMS officers brought her back home.
The portrait she gave to the officers was close to the propagandist reports on the news. She told a tale of a vicious man whose gang had beaten her. She forced out crocodile tears of relief when she saw her "family", giving off a show for the news cameras. It was a wonderful farce and it was swallowed whole by most who saw it. It was also the furthest thing from the truth and thus the best protection for her escaped comrades.
Chizuko took back her old name and old life, once again avoiding her parents' poisoning attempts and returning to school. But ADAMS has not forgotten her. Even now she is watched, bait to lure out her former comrades...
Personality: Chizuko is preternaturally mature for her years. She's a quiet, observant, insightful girl. In a way she has to be. She's had to accept a lot of responsibility for a preteen. It's not that she doesn't want to have fun and braid her friends' hair and talk about boys and all the crap that girls do about that age. It's that she feels a responsibility to play the tragic victim because she knows that's the only way to protect the people she cares most about, wherever they happen to be. Ironically, that's the major traumatizing event in her life right now. She hates the pitying looks she gets, the people whispering 'that poor girl'. She wants to shout at them what a kind, wonderful man Twenty Faces was, that she's not a victim, that she chose her destiny...but she can't.

Besides the standard three plugs and mites-in-the eye, her appearance is pretty much unchanged in this RP. She's a slight girl, yet to hit her growth spurt. Her eyes are large, green and intelligent. They follow you when you talk, sifting through and analysing your words. She usually wears her hair rather short, with two longer strips hanging over her ears.
