http://reborn.wikia.com/wiki/Superbia_Squalo Personality: One thing you should always keep handy when dealing with Squalo: A really good pair of ear plugs. Ranked number one loudest mafioso in Fuuta's book of ranking he's not the more patient one in the group. Far from it really with his temper only being rivaled by Xanxus himself. While seeming like a complete loose canon Squalo is actually much more perceptive and talented than his attitude lets on. Even at the young age of fourteen his sheer determination and skill couldn't be matched by even the current Sword Emperor, Tyr. Going as far as cutting off his own hand to be able to relate to Tyr's fighting style he was a swordsman genius at that age.
Squalo's also fiercely loyal, no matter what. He decided at a young age that he just had to follow Xanxus, no matter what. Not only did he give up his claim as the boss of Varia but even after finding out that there was no possible way for Xanxus to become the leader of the Vongola he still follows him to the very end to chase that impossible dream. The main aspect of Squalo's loyalty is actually his hair which he promised to Xanxus he wouldn't cut until they achieved his goals. (Despite Xanxus telling him it was a stupid idea.) Even in the eight years that Xanxus was imprisoned and the ten years that followed their defeat at the hands of Tsuna and his guardians, he still never once cut his hair.
At age thirty-two, while still as loud and vulgar as ever, Squalo seems a tiny bit more level headed than he was when first introduced. Though of course that can be due to maturing slightly as he grew up. His determination, loyalty, foul mouth, temper and master swordsmanship are still just as strong as ever. Not only that, but more refined in a sense as well. Ten years to hone his skills, to become the sword emperor he had striven to be. Defeating 100 swordsmen and documenting all of it to show Yamamoto so he could learn from him, he's more organized and perfect for his position of Varia's strategy commander.
Strengths/Weaknesses: Squalo's biggest and possibly only weakness is his quick temper. It takes very little to set him off on a rampage. Though unfortunately that's countered by one of his strengths. He never loses sight of the goal in front of him. If anything his anger fuels him on, forcing him to charge straight ahead and take down anything that may be in his path. One of his past weaknesses was being overconfident and underestimating his opponent the moment he believed he had the advantage. His loss to Yamamoto quickly made him rectify that mistake though and as such he's not so quick to judge in the future, being perceptive enough by then to see even through an opponent faking his own defeat and knowing it best to get out of the area as soon as possible.
And of course Squalo's greatest strength is his unwavering loyalty. Even years upon years of mental and physical abuse aren't enough to even dent how much respect he gives Xanxus. Of course that doesn't mean he's a total pushover either. He has been known on occasion to retaliate against Xanxus's more random bouts, more so in recent years than he did in the past. Even to the point of Lussuria having to physically restrain him at one point. Though while that could be considered a weakness with how short his temper is, it really just shows how he can adapt to any situation and learn from it, one way or another.

[Static crackles over the feed for a moment, the device being abused, muffled or perhaps both. Just a split second of blissful silence after that until-]
VOOOOOOOIIIIIIIIII!
[There's a roar in the background accompanying it, the cry of a Gyarados, and the exclamation itself holds not anger but some from of hidden amusement.]
This fucking place just couldn't get enough of me, could it? At least it had the god damn courteous this time to wait until I'd finished with the important crap before jerking me back to this shithole!
[There's a momentary pause, a bit more of the static before the smirking face of the shark like man comes onto the screen.]
More of you bastards are around this time, for better or fucking worse, so what'd I miss?
Third Person Sample: A familiar town like a distant dream. A familiar scene of rage and confusion and abuse of a certain fucking useless fish. This time at least, there's no flipping the fuck out. No outbursts of anger and frustration at being interrupted at such a crucial moment and worry that shit was going to fuck up without him there, or go on without him and others begin to question his absence. No, everything had been taken care of. Everything was settling down and all that was left was picking up all the scattered pieces and dusting them off until they were back in working order. Boring shit, shit that even the grunts in Varia could have managed without his guidance if they had at least a fraction of a brain.
Squalo actually let a sharp grin come to his face as he looked around the little town, same as before and yet he could tell the passing of time had been there. How much, he really didn't care to figure out exactly. It didn't fucking matter so it wasn't something he was going to waste his time with. He flicked open his PokéGear to check over the contacts list, seeing which of the brats were actually still around in this place. The Varia names on the list surprised him, torn between wanting to laugh at the sheer absurdity of it all or be mildly horrified at the mere idea. How the fuck were those assholes managing in a place where you were supposed to try and act normal?
That alone was enough to keep him from snapping once the novelty amusement wore off, enough to make him realize he had a purpose this time. He wasn't just here to waste time and panic about what could be happening without his watch, there were those here who actually needed him around and potential bad things could happen if he didn't keep an eye over certain situations.
With those thoughts aside he stuffed a hand into his pocket and pulled out that odd familiar little ball. For a moment he glared down at it, remembering last time and how much of a pain in the ass it was.
"Tch. I swear to god if this place fucked me over again..."
A grumble to himself, one he knew he really couldn't do shit about without causing too many problems. The inevitable was there though, and the pokéball was thrown into the air finally. The familiar flash of red light, and then the roar filled with all the rage that he could be proud of himself.
"VOOOIII!! That's what I'm fucking talking about!"
He would have been pissed if it was the damn useless fish again, but at the same time part of him knew that he would have been just as disappointed if it had been something else because then he would have had to go out and actually catch one of the little bastards just on a matter of principle. Magikarp had been a bitch to train and he was proud of how he did with it. Matters of pride were not to be taken lightly.
It occurred to him, as the dragon looked down at him with that familiar annoyance, that look that said it remembered him and was just as much of a pain in the ass as it had been before, that he hadn't bothered giving it a decent name the last time. It hadn't deserved one at the time. The answer was obvious, he'd never been very creative though he'd like to think he was better than a certain asshole boss.
"Voi! Your name's Pioggia, got it? You actually fucking earned it last time so be proud! We'll show those bastards how it's done!"
There was no telling how long the others had been around, how much stronger they probably were, but the roar from the Gyarados told him that the other really didn't give a shit either. They'd find a way to become stronger and prove their worth, even in such a shitty place as this one.
