Alias Smith & Jones snippet(?) for Kat

Jan 29, 2010 21:15

Finally posting my response to the meme prompt request from Kat. And I guess it's more than a snippet coming in a little over 2,500 words. But Kat's wonderful little plot bunny allowed me to develop a story I thought needed exploring. That is, the relationship Heyes had with Big Jim Santana when Santana used to be the leader of the Devil's Hole ( Read more... )

Oh, boys. ♥

Kid is adorable when he's jealous. Heyes' jaw probably doesn't think so, but I think so. :D

Hey! Look who's out from under all her work-stuff! *waves*
Welcome back, hon. I've always imagined a backstory for Big Jim's character. He was all over Pete in that ep. But who could blame him?

I still have a ridonkulous pile of work but my brain blew a fuse so I said eff it for the night, since the offices are all closed tomorrow anyway. :P

I don't blame Big Jim one. darned. bit. Heyes is mighty fine. But totally Kid's. *nods*

Oh, Robin! How utterly delightful! I loved it. The spark of jealousy in the Kid, but he kept it under wraps, until the bar. And Heyes knowing what Kid was running from. What a great read. Sweet and sexy and dusty ole Denver. Very nice. *hugs Robin and story* I'm so pleased the plot bunny inspired you beyond a drabble.

“Or could it be...that it was the thought of me bein' with a man who wasn't you, that got you so worked up?”

I like Heye's insight into Kid's workings. Thank you!

Yay!! Thanks for giving such a great bunny *pets bunny* I'm afraid I didn't capture Denver too vividly, but I was so intent on the boys that I kinda forgot about setting the scene *g* Interestingly enough, the last job Big Jim tried to talk Heyes into pulling, in 'Return to Devel's Hole', was supposed to be robbing the Well's Fargo Clearing House (huh, never heard of such a thing...)in Denver.

So glad you enjoyed this. And it gave me an excuse to watch that episode again. Even though the guys are apart for most of it. And I spend most of my time being mad at Big Jim for putting his paws all over Heyes. I always think, "Oooh, you just wait 'till Kid hears about that. He'll teach you not to mess with HIS partner!" Heh.
{{hugs Kat}}

I always find the episode disappointing since the guys are separated for so long and there's that schmoopy, romantic 70's song in the middle.

That's why the good Lord gave us fanfic. To fill in the parts we wanted to see.

Kid was seeing the green eyed monster all right. Hee hee, and punched him right on the jaw. Even if Heyes didn't actually deserve it.

Very nice story!

Yeah, felt a little bad about that. But you know how hot-headed Kid can be. Besides, he'll make it up to him. Thanks, Dawn.

What a lovely pressie, hon. And a nice way to give us closure on an ep that leaves us fangirls gnashing our teeth. Big Jim was lucky he left before he got the punch that landed on Heyes. ;-) Thanks for sharing, sweetie!

Well, thank you kindly. I admit I go a little weak at the knees at the thought of jealous Kid (or Heyes). And Big Jim was certainly not shy about throwing his machismo around. I sure wouldn't mind reading a story where Kid put him in his place. L Lamas was well-cast as Santana, though. Very charismatic and handsome. I could see him being accepted as the leader of the gang.

Thanks for your nice comments.

Oh thanks so much for your comments. I'm glad to see you here, because I think I can count on you to help me beat up Big Jim for taking liberties with Heyes. Touching him all the time like that is. Not. Okay. Or maybe we can just hold him while Kid slugs him. I'm a sucker for a jealous outburst, as long as it's followed by resolution.
