One of the premier examples of True Crime novels ever. The way the poor doomed Clutter family is just so...normal...in a nice, normal small town, just makes it all the more shocking. And the in depth look that Capote gives of the murderers is fascinating.

that's his talent, isn't it. I don't think anyone has equaled the way he got inside the victims and the killers.

Yes, it was his talent. But I think he was a totured artist, in the end. Getting inside those guys' heads had to have had an effect on him.

Yeah, this is one I'd like to read someday. From what I've heard, Capote's biography makes interesting reading as well.

I've always thought this was the seminole example of a True Crime novel. I have always loved that genre. Helter Skelter scared me something awful when I read in in Junior High.
