Yea me! I finished the gathering of data for our taxes this morning while the California Legislature finally voted to pass a Budget. It was only 106 days late. Sigh! I agree with Gerry. Your chapters are very easy to read through. I've seen some by other authors that made me grind my teeth because of the problems I was having with them. I know that I was LITERALLY grinding my teeth (or at the very least, clenching my jaw) because my mouth hurt afterward. My dentist says that I have the type of wear on teeth to indicate that I grind my teeth, but I'm not normally aware of my jaw being sore. (Examples by other authors that got on my nerves: the author seemingly unable to decide whether he/she wanted to use past tense or present; serious, serious inconsistencies with canon that don't seem deliberately AU, just messy; a pattern of poor word-choice, so that I have tabs for dictionary.com and a thesaurus website open, in addition to the HP Lexicon, while I'm slogging through it.)

When you send your chapters to us, Kate, they are very easy to work with, and I don't remember to compliment you on this fact enough. Good job. :-)

I still have all the various color (or colour) Post-it notes hanging out of my copy of Deathly Hallows so I can find the places to quote when my sharp-eyed readers have questions about my timeline or why Harry can see a house under Fidelius. If JKR says he sees a cottage with movement inside it, he sees a cottage with movement inside it.

I am such a novice fiction writer that I appreciate your patience and experience. If I could wave a magic wand you'd be highly paid for what you do so well.
