Twice in a sixteen month period seems a bit much to me. The fire June a year ago was started by pot smokers in a park quite close the their house. Thy do not know what started the Lockheed Fire but the dry fuel fed it too well. All of us in California will have to pay for fighting these fires. Praying for rain this winter might be wise, as well.

Wonderful new, Kate! That certainly sounds promising, at least...I hope that there are no new fires that crop up, for everyone's sake. You and your family are still in my prayers...*hugs*

Thank you for your concern. I would not choose to live in a forest but many people like the rural feeling. They have defensible space around their house.

One of the California fires that is closer to us was started by a red-tailed hawk flying into a power line. People clearing weeds away with weedwhackers, illegal campfires, and smoking something or another is also high.
