Good job! Not only having it done, but conquering your fear. That really says something. I don't have cataracts (at the moment anyway) but my father did. Are they genetic? My "fear" is the dentist and I will do almost anything to not have to go if I don't need to.

Thank you. I may have a genetic disposition, I'm not sure. Lots of UV exposure during my life. I understand your dental fears. I have that scheduled on the 10th! ^_^

Wow - you're braver than I am!
I've been told I am a good candidate for that laser surgery but I just cannot bring myself to do it.
Good for you for being so brave!
Enjoy all the beauty you can now see clearly....and enjoy driving!

Thank you. I have a son-in-law that recently had laser surgery, and seems happy with the results.

I worry about laser surgery. It makes me think of The Simpsons where Ned Flanders had it and in the future he was blind - it was a joke but the writers were making a point how do we know the long term effects of such things? It's a fairly new thing (been around for ten years in the UK anyway) so it's no surprise people are wary.

yeah my sister in law had it and went through a pretty rough time. She's okay now but...it just makes me wonder so I'd rather stick with my good ole glasses. Hey, I've been wearing them since I was 11 so...they're a pretty familiar appendage at this point.

That's great! I don't think I could ever do anything without glasses unless I got laser eye surgery. I've worn glasses since I was 5 on and off - full time since August '04.
