Lisa, The lyrics are behind the cut. I have toyed with this ditty for years. I am fairly happy with the lyrics, but every attempt to put it to a melody falls short.

Good lyrics. I don't really write songs so I'm not sure I can help you. What type of sound did you have in mind when you wrote this? In my head I'm getting a tune like a childs nursery rhyme on the repition of the word holiday but also a bluesy vibe.

You're on target. Listen to the Ames Brothers 1950's hit: 'The Naughty Lady of Shady Lane'. That's the genre of novelty song I'm after. The nursery rhyme tag is accurate, as I'm thinking of a child under 8 years old. I also think a ladies' voice would handle it better than a man. . . . Oh! to have the Chordettes still active! Well, if I keep at it, I'll devise a melody to fit. ^_^
