(green-eyed with envy) that's it, I want to move to California....my peppers are still 2 inches high in need of moving to the garden plot. Ok, so I started late, but still! And I can't grow melons here for anything!

My planter boxes beside the house are doing quite well. The hill, which had been such an abundant producer in past years, seems to be lagging this year. Today I will start planting new veggies in the planter boxes to ensure fresh harvest in late summer and fall.
By the way, just a few blocks away, builders are offering new single homes starting at $290K. ^_^

Lovely garden, maybe I can share some pics of ours at some point. The garden in our new house has onions, raspberries, blackberries, a crab apple tree and rhubarb growing quite happily as well as some flowers. We need to get rid of the concrete though and might put up some decking.

Before you tear up the concrete, consider putting ceramic tile over the concrete, if the position and shape of the concrete is similar to the area where you would put the decking. Tile can be quite attractive, is fireproof, low maintenance and long lasting. I look forward to the pictures. ^_^
