I don't believe we have a formal process for resignation. Perhaps this would be the time to make one.
I have finally regained some use of my faculties, and I expect to make a full recovery. However, it will be a long process. As I am, I would be more of a hindrance than a help.
Therefore I resign as ombudsman, and request that a general election be held in order to determine who will take my place.
It has been a pleasure working with all of you, and I deeply regret not being able to continue my duties. I hope I can continue to assist you in some capacity once I have recovered more fully.

If there is any information about whoever attacked me, I would appreciate hearing it. My memory of the incident is understandably lacking.
