Hermione was surprised to see that it was Snape decorating the trees in the Great Hall. He seemed utterly absorbed in the task.
“Professor? The Headmistress wanted to know if everything was ready yet.”
His guilty start was a dead giveaway.
She peered at the decorations, some of which seemed to be twitching.
“Is that... Is that Dumbledore? And a...” She looked at the wriggling figurine aghast. “He's swinging from a noose!”
“Call it therapy, Professor Granger,” replied Snape. “Why don't you try?”
He handed her a miniature Rita Skeeter and some string.
“Merry Christmas, Professor,” he grinned.
