Wow, it's like they're TRYING to cause society to cave in...

It's like the education cuts... yeah, they'll save a few pounds for now, but a generation with poor education prospects is not going to be a productive one...

Looks like the next election will be a choice between inconsiderate bastards, spineless bastards and useless bastards

It's looking like the higher fees are going to be pointless anyway. If students don't pay them back until they start earning a certain amount, it will be years before universities start getting their funds back. And there's a chance that a good chunk of that money will be written off althogether as some students never make enough to pay back what they owe.

Yeah, I remember talking to someone about this with someone who's on a university funding committee. Especially with the cuts in place, universities need the money as soon as possible, or the range of courses and quality of services they can offer and number of places available will plummet. Ugh, it's so ridiculous... basically they're restricting access with no benefit to the university system. Education is/was one of the best resources this country has.
