Skits 'n' stuff

Jul 05, 2010 12:47

So who's seen the winning Paris Expo WCS skit, and what do you think? People have said in the past that skits at London Expo need to be better, but is that the sort of thing that you want to see?

Cosplay Cruise this wekend~ They're still selling tickets (if you haven't heard) on their website: www.cosplaycruise.co.uk

Rocky Horror in Brizzle tonight!

Jeeeeeez whats with all the negative in here, I personally really enjoyed it!
Bit slow at the beginning but it picked up for sure. I was entertained and wow'd and that to me is all that matters. I think its nice to have some interpretive dance, I'm a bit sick of people trying to pull off funny skits that just aren't funny. Its cool to have something a bit different in there

There was a definite male - female split on Facebook too, which was interesting.

I wouldn't want every entry to be like that, but I think if we had typical performances but some of the expert entries pulled acts like that the extra variety if nothing else would be nice.

What Laura said, I wouldn't want every skit to be like that but the odd one isn't a terrible thing. The outfits were pretty, and even if Xae is right and the silk wings/flags aren't something difficult it did look very good so kudos for a new(ish) idea.

the flags are a weird thing... what they did was very simple (the kind of things you do when you first try them out), but you can do some amazing things with them. i guess knowing a bit about them, and seeing the park performers using them in exeter, i know there's a lot of untapped potential there, and a lot more could have been done beyond running them up and down the catwalk a few times. that's why my opinion bias is towards a win via "dazzle by BIG!"

i'm not even really saying it was that bad... just could have been really something incredible if they'd practised with the flags.

Too much of even the most awesome things can become dull, so I think this it pretty cool (as long as it's the only one in the show XD).

Not sure about the running up and down the stage near the end, but the earlier bits were cute and carefully choreographed and when they were actually dancing together with the flags it was pretty. Plus the costumes are beautiful.

I liked the popup feature at the beginning; I thought it was quite cute and comical, too.

The flowing essence of their dance was quite nice too, especially when they had their wings out. But then I'm a girl and girls often like those things (not every girl, I admit).

Overall I agree with above: it would be somewhat dull and boring if everyone did stuff like that but it's nice to have occasional performances of such an essence. I think they would soften the show - there are sometimes some fight scenes in Expo shows so this would counteract them ... if that makes sense.

Eh?!?

I personally really liked it and would like to see more entries like this. A lot of stuff we get at the moment is all samey and I'm sick of Kingdom Hearts orgy fests -_- Variety is the spice of life and all that.
I watched that and just thought: "Pretty!" =D
