Met a slightly middle aged lady today who was carrying a sketch pad. I asked her about it and she said that oh yeah, she likes to draw and how one time she showed it to an instructer at some school who told her that she didn't need school but that she could apply right now for graphics arts jobs

A lot of "artists" are truely deluded about the quality of their work.

it's better to snuff out any illusions of talent right away, then they won't make fools of themselves. the person she spoke of may have been trying to be nice or they were just being cruel... i think i would want to know if i had no talent.
