I actually read a comment just a moment ago that made my eyes bug out. A friend was talking about how she made cookies with her daughter and somebody actually said, "How do you make cookies with your daughter? Do you use the prepackaged cookie dough or something else?" Oh heavens.

I agree with you and I think it goes even farther out of the kitchen. It seems like people have totally lost touch with where food even comes from. There is a farm really close to our house and they are getting shut down by the city so the city can put in a bike path. Bike paths are great, don't get me wrong but to shut down a FARM?!?! That seems pretty weird.

That's so awful, about the farm/bike path! Why not just go around the farm?

My CSA experience has been so wonderful, it's been so great to be in touch with what grows where. For example, red peppers, hard to grow in Massachusetts. Eating seasonally, eating mostly plants, I feel like that's what we're meant to do.

If I ever have kids, I am going to bake cookies with them often. My mom never baked cookies, so I had to wait til college to do it.

I don't know. I think some people are just stupid. I watch television and I cook. I go to farmers markets every second weekend and buy great local produce and have an awesome time in the kitchen with it. I'm actually bidding on an vintage apron pattern on ebay so I can make my own apron for when I'm cooking. I dig both cooking and television... I just don't let advertisements fool me. *shrugs*
