I've had a lot of those recently. Today's triumph was about 6.75 miles (I was hoping for 7, but map says not quite.) http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=3309353 in 1:30ish ( Read more... )

I don't think I overdid it, just challenged myself a little. I started feeling that running high at around mile 5. By the end I was just quite tired.

But exercising to the point of getting sick is not good

I need to get a hydration belt and nutrition gels. 8 ounces of water and some sugar after an hour of running is good.

I'm waiting to buy it until after surgery because my waist size is likely to be smaller, so I might be a size M instead of L.

A lot of people barf after half marathons or marathons. I think in my case I drank too much too fast upon getting in because I was really dry. Body after long run is quite sensitive, and it takes experience to figure out what works best.

All in all, I think that the satisfaction and joy for having run so far outweighs the few hours of feeling lousy. =) I'll be sore tomorrow and ready to run more on Tuesday. And next sunday, maybe I'll be able to run even further.
