And so, a semester passes

Dec 21, 2010 00:56

I've taken Ob/Gyn, Surgery, and Family Medicine.  Learned so much, had so many experiences, and met an amazing number of people... both doctors and patients.

And gained about 5 pounds, which is really uncool.  So I'm on vacation for 2 weeks, and for once I'm not traveling like a crazy person... so I'm at home living well and enjoying the things I  ( Read more... )

It's good you found something at the gym that you like.

Look at this way, gaiing 5 lbs sucks, but it's far better than 10 or 20.

:) Glad to hear from you.

Congrats on getting through the semester and good to hear from you!

The link doesn't work for me but the new elliptical sounds awesome! The elliptical is my favorite at the gym and this moonwalk one sounds great!

Yayyy, it's Jane! :) Glad to hear from you- I was wondering how you were doing, especially with such a chaotic semester going on.

The link doesn't work for me, either. What's the machine called?

Hope you are enjoying your vacation!! Karel and I just got back from ours, and we're already planning the next one, hah. :) We're hoping to get back to Boston sometime in 2011, and I hope we can meet up while we're there!

congrats! it sounds like a big, important semester for you. and there are big things besides weight loss :)

i hope you don't find this an inappropriate comment, but you seem dissatisfied with your surgery. i really value your insight and as i think i may have mentioned to you, i'm considering a thigh lift (at least inner). but it's so much downtime. and yours seems to have caused you some problems for quite a while after. i just want to know if you think it was worth it.

no worries of course if you don't respond. wishing you well!

I'm not entirely dissatisfied with the surgery... it's not perfect, and I've never had a surgical incision before so I don't have anything to compare it to. I have had NO complications with it, it healed absolutely perfectly in good time with not too much pain. Compared to others who have had this surgery who have had issues, mine is the best case scenario. I talk about the little things about it because I want people to know that yes, a year later and it's not "in the past". It still twinges, it still is noticeable when I do certain things, and it doesn't look perfect and flat. It definitely looks way better than before though!

My regret is that I didn't do a more major surgery to start, as I was out of commission for a lot longer than I thought I would be, and realized in retrospect that I could have done a larger surgery... and also that I don't want to deal with another recovery from a major procedure somewhere down the road.
