Workouts without a gym membership

I find myself in the awkward position of having bitten off more than I can chew rent-wise in my new place in Manhattan, and thusly, holding off on gym membership until things are a big more stable.  The other reason I don't have the gym membership yet is that it is really hard to get to the gym when you are working 90 hours/week.  During those ( Read more... )

For a circuit of body weight exercises, I use Sworkit. It's an app on the phone AND a website. Basically you do :30 rotations of workouts for whatever time you set: 5 minutes up to an hour, I think. There's also yoga and stretching. Maybe that could help you get it in?

Maybe you can find kettlebells on the cheap on Craigslist or Ebay?

This is what I was warning you about when you asked me why Dave and I combined we're trying to avoid the rent you are paying alone. When the almost all if your pay goes to rent, you have too little left over for the things you enjoy. And don't forget about cost of utilities, food, and commute!

Planet Fitness has the occasional sale where membership is $99 for one YEAR. Also the parks and recreation center in the E50s has a pool in its gym, and membership is something like $80 a year.
