I am a Jack girl through and through. In some fics I feel he gets the short end of the stick. He is just the flat character drooling after Ennis, but it has always seemed so much more complicated to me. I want to write him as charming yet insecure... As I saw him (at least when he was younger). Also, I really think that is the way Ennis saw Jack, Ennis rarely saw the weak, insecure Jack and the moments he did seemed to destroy them both.

I love this chapter, lots of chemistry and electricity between them. Jack's face flashing in front of Ennis while making love with Cassie... that's hot, or indirect hotness :)

I got a feeling that Ennis is a bit shaken by the handshake at the end of the chapter, maybe he feels the same as Jack, but Jack knows what he really wants.. Ennis may not. this is interesting.

I'm all about Jack so I love that you are giving him so much in this story. His connection with the animals was such a nice touch since it's pretty much the measure Ennis uses to know how much he can trust someone. Alice is no fool. :) I'm so curious as to how Ennis is going to react when thing get going. I just love these two together, thank you for writing this.

Nice chapter. I love the chemistry building between Jack and Ennis.
