Who pays for the fonts?!

Working on a proposal for an identity package with a graphics standard manual to go with it for a brand new company. How do you handle including font prices in your proposal? Should I be covering font licensing or does the company cover that cost? Obviously if they are going to use a font within their own company, for their correspondence etc... ( Read more... )

I treat fonts in the same way as stock images -- ask the permission to buy and then send the invoice.
For smaller companies I try to stick to free fonts for logos.

if you picked the font and you're going to use it for other projects, you should pay for it.
if the client is absolutely set on a font, they should buy the license. and you wouldn't use the font for anything other than their projects.
