Because I am curious/nosey and have to know everything - did you talk to anyone who stayed the length of the sermon? What was the fucking point? You could always use it as an object lesson to your kids about the evils of drugs. I suspect you all ready have.

The point was is that, happiness can be found through Jesus, community, and selflessness, and that we will all die sooner or later, so all that material shit don't mean a thing. What matters is our spiritual well being and what we leave behind for people. (I went to church every damn week until I was 13 so I can see the endings coming from a million miles away.)

I was just sick to death of ANS.

You'll regret leaving that church so fast, if one of your daughters decides (in her twenties) to marry a little old rich bloke. Hehe. It sounds like your Pastor is reading magazines, when he ought to be reading the Bible though.

"Better to sleep with one guy for a billion dollars, then a million guys for a hundred, but ideally you should just get a job."

There, MUCH better.

I'm hoping the kids aren't old enough to remember that particular trip to church. No one should be subject to that. It will forever taint church...they will be saying stuff like "Do you remember that time we went to church and the pastor was..." It will go down in family history infamy.

Pfft, yea I hope so too. They are supposed to respect their elders and respect the word, and then what example do we set? Tsk tsk.
